At BlueDriver, our goal has always been to make car diagnostics easy, accurate, and helpful. As we continue to improve your experience, we recently introduced a new update: creating an account is now required to use the BlueDriver app.

We know this is a change from how things worked before, and we want to explain why it matters, what it means for you, and how it helps us better support all BlueDriver users.

Why did we make this change?

The decision to require accounts was based on feedback from thousands of customers. It’s part of a broader effort to improve security, personalize your experience, and deliver features users have been asking for.

What do I get out of having an account?

  • Access your scan history on any device
  • Automatically back up your diagnostic reports
  • Keep your data safe if your device is lost or replaced
  • Get ready for new personalized features coming soon

Creating an account is quick and gives you more flexibility and peace of mind while using BlueDriver.

How do I create an account?

  • Open the app and choose:

    • Sign up with Email

    • Sign up with Google

    • Sign up with Apple

    • Sign up with Microsoft

    • Or if you have an account already, click "Login" at the bottom.

To manage your account:

  • In the app go to More > Settings > BlueDriver Account

Common Questions

1. What security issues does this solve?

Creating an account helps keep your data safe and ensures that only you can access your scan history—even if your device is lost or replaced. Your reports are securely linked to you, so your information stays protected and always available across your devices.

This also prevents unauthorized access and ensures your data is only used by you. It’s an important step toward delivering the secure, personalized experience many users have asked for.

2. Can’t support already see my info from the app?

Not completely. While we can see basic details like VINs and error codes, we don’t have access to your full scan history or reports unless you have an account. Creating an account allows you to securely share that information with us only if you choose to reach out for support — helping us troubleshoot faster and more accurately.

Your personal data is never sold or shared with third parties.

3. Why is there no option to opt out?

We understand that not everyone wants to create an account, and we appreciate your feedback.

To keep your data secure and deliver a consistent experience for all users, account creation is now required. It’s a foundational step that allows us to offer features like cloud backups, cross-device access, and better support—safely and reliably. We know it’s a shift, especially for long-time users, and we’re here to help make the transition as smooth as possible.

4. Are you planning to charge for BlueDriver in the future?

We know this is a change, and we want to reassure you: BlueDriver does not require a subscription, and all the core features you rely on are still included at no extra cost. We're focused on making your experience even better—more secure, more helpful, and more connected. If we ever introduce new features that come with a subscription down the road, they’ll be completely optional, and we’ll communicate everything clearly so you’re always in control.

5. Is my data safe?

Yes—your data is encrypted and securely stored. Creating an account helps us protect your information, back it up automatically, and ensure it’s only accessible by you—even if your device is lost or replaced.

6. Are you going to sell my personal information?

No. Your personal data is never sold or shared with third parties. We’re committed to protecting your privacy and will always be transparent about how your information is used. You stay in control at all times.

7. I’ve used BlueDriver for years without this — why now?

We completely understand — this is a big change, especially if you’ve been with us for a long time.

Over time, thousands of users have asked for features like cloud backups, access to scan history across devices, and improved support. Creating an account is the first step toward delivering those capabilities in a secure and reliable way.

8. Do I need internet to use the device?

You’ll only need an internet connection when you first create and log into your BlueDriver account. After that, you can scan your vehicle and view code info without being online. Some features—like downloading Repair Reports, emailing saved scans, or reaching out to Support—will still need an internet connection to work.

Thank you for being part of the BlueDriver community.
